Badge Maker's and Kelowna Engravers had a great December and we owe a big THANK YOU to our great local customers here in the Okanagan Valley.  We had the pleasure of working on many fun projects, one was laser cutting cardboard for Four Spoons, the picture to the left made it to the front page of the news paper. Check out Four Spoons website if you are a gluten free fan. Thank you to all our customers for a wonderful 2014 and we hope that every one achieves their goals for 2015.

It's that time of year again and you might be struggling on what to get everyone in the work place for Christmas.  Engraving is a great way to personalize those corporate gifts.  If you want something with a real personal touch, then we recommend engraving the recipient's name on it, gift ideas like flash lights and switchblade knifes have been great hits. And for the big corporations, engraving your logo on the gift is a must. The most popular corporate gifts that we see are, wine glasses, watches, clocks, and leather folios.  We hope you find what you need for your corporate gifts for 2014 and we are happy to help you with all your engraving needs.

Here at Badge Maker's and Kelowna Engravers we are proud to support and promote "Movember". I came across these four rules for Movember that you might find interesting. 1. You must begin the 1st of Movemeber with a clean shaven face. 2 for the entire month of Movemeber you must grow and groom a moustache. 3 Don't fake it. No beards and no goatees. 4. Use the power of the moustache to create conversation about men's health and raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. Here is to supporting the men in our lives.

Here we are again, election time.  It's time to educate ourselves on the topics that matter most to you and do the responsible thing and vote.  Some people die over the right to vote in other countries and lots of us here in Canada don't care enough to vote.  So we should take some responsibility for our community and vote. But on a lighter note the employees here at Badge Maker's and Kelowna Engravers just wanted to send a thank you out to the campaigners that support their local business. Thank You!

Out with the old and in with the new. It's almost time to see the brand new Kelowna Yacht Club. The name badges have changed, the logo has changed but it's still in the beautiful sunny Okanagan.  The team at Badge Maker's and Kelowna Engravers is looking forward to working with the Yacht Club with their future projects. We believe in delivering quality and reliable serve, that our community can depend on.

If you are looking for a durable outdoor finish, engraving and sandblasting are great options to implement.  The Okanagan summers and winters can be hard on other finishes. The bell seen in the picture on the left, was sandblasted for a ferry. Sandblasting can be done on the following services; rock, glass and metal.

This plaque for the UBC Okanagan Aboriginal Programs & Services is very striking, with the contrast of wood and acrylic this plaque provides a 3 dimensional surface.  It also literally stands out with the use of stand offs, these are a new and modern accent to display plaques and signs.

Dog Tags have a large surface for engraving, this can be a great gift if you want to engrave a larger message or just something that will be close to the heart.  Dog Tags are also a perfect substitute for a medal, this way an accomlishment can me worn with pride, more than just once.

The 2014 Okanagan Arts Award is a three-dimensional stainless steel sculpture, titled 'Element Okanagan' and was created by a Vernon artist Julie Oakes with the help of blacksmith artist Doug Alcock. This was an amazing evening and the team at Kelowna Engravers wanted to thank everyone that helped to make the evening so magical.

Here at Badge Maker's and Kelowna Engravers we have been privileged enough to get to do some very loving and inspirational work for people that are celebrating meaningful mile stones in their lives. It's an honor to be able to share in the joyful planning up to someone wedding day or the memories that have built up to an anniversary. Personalized gifts can be cherished for a life time.
